Official definitions
The local reference collection includes the U.S. Courts glossary. When a question exactly matches an available glossary entry, the definition can be shown with its official source link. A glossary explains terminology; it does not decide how a rule applies to a particular case.
Available library material
Other answers depend on the references available to the current session. A source appearing in a library does not mean that every edition, jurisdiction, or later development is covered. Review the title, date, cited passage, and scope instead of assuming the collection is exhaustive.

Coverage and updates
There is no claim here of complete U.S. legal coverage or continuous synchronization with every source. Check the official publication for revisions and effective dates. If the answer cannot be supported by the available material, more research is needed.
